Keeping my Sanity one card at a time!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Wow I can't believe it is August already... I have been out of commission for awhile. We had to move. I hate moving. Moving is never fun. The only thing that is good about this move is we are in a better place!  God has been apart of this move and we are grateful for the new opportunities this has brought to our family. Our kids are in the same school districts and we moved up the road into a great neighborhood!  The yard is flat and we have a flat driveway!!  The trees are all around us and there is a wonderful deck that we have enjoyed already! We have had deer in the yard 3 mornings and there is a pond that has ducks that have visited our yard too!!  It is a little cramped for the kids in there rooms but they are adjusting well. It is easier for the older boys to keep their room clean! As an added bonus for me I now have a craft area for my very own that I can craft and keep it out and not have to clear out for dinner!! Pics to come when I get it set up! For now I am still unpacking little bits at a time. I have not had the urge to make anything for awhile now and hope that my mojo will come back soon!  Thanks

Been busy!!

Hi all,
Been so busy lately! I finished up my Father's Day Cards!! and they were mailed out on time!! I had 4 to make! We send one to our parents from our kids!! So here they are!!
For Grandpa I used an image from The Cake Everyday Sampler and welded it together to make a background. Then I used the Chomas Creations glitter gel pen and holder to print the background! Then I welded and cut the word out and matted it and there you have it!!
For my FIL I wanted to make something different. I found this tutorial on the Splitcoaststamper's websight. I used my cuttlebug to emboss my velum and it all came together!!
For this card I just wanted something simple but eye catching. I love the versatility the Chomas Creation pens give me! This card came together very easy!!

This is the card I had the the most fun with!! The sentiment is from the Father's Day Cart. I used the Chomas Creation pen again!! Then cut the silhouette. The paper for the last two projects was from Creative Memories.
Hope you enjoy!

New Card w/ tissue paper.

I belong to a lot of yahoo groups and got an e-mail update from one of the crafty lady’s asking us to check out a new technique!

Terri over at Ramblings of a Texas Craftroom has a great tutorial video on how to make the tissue paper that you used for gift bags into a great card!  I don’t know about you but I always think that the tissue paper always looks so cute and why can’t they make matching cardstock so I could make a card out of that!!  Well thanks to Terri you can!  Not only is tissue paper cute but it is fairly inexpensive and you get a lot of bang for your buck!! Here is the link for her blog post and video!!

Here is the card that I made right after watching the video!!

Blog award!!

I am so happy!! I got this blog award. From Kathlee over at Kathlee's Snippits & Cricuts Her blog is just amazing! You should go and check her out!
You know how you look at everyone’s great blogs and you see all their awards and you think to yourself wow that would be great if I could get one!  To me this is extra special because this blog all started because I was unemployed and going berserk… I created this blog so I would have a place to let out some creative energy!  I have since found employment but now I have been injured and out for 3 months tomorrow. I am very limited in how much I can do everyday. I have been so inspired by all the blogs out there to keep me going!! I am still not able to craft as much as I want too but everyday brings me closer to getting better.
So if you stayed with me this far I am supposed to choose 10 blogs to give this award to.
They are in no particular order so here they are:
  1. Bella Scrapbook Designs

  2. Zebra Palace!

  3. Getting Busy with the Cricky

  4. Scrappin' On A Dime

  5. Cricut Crafty Clare

  6. Pink and Paper

  7. Cricut me that

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew.

I am so excited!! Krystal over at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew is having a LINK UP THE LOVE PARTY!! The link up love party is a way to get to know each other and find new blog inspiration. I know I am always looking for ideas and inspiration. I also love it when people get inspired by looking at my blog. So it is the best of both worlds really!! So here is how it works, I get to post my favorite project and link it to the party! Then I get to look at the 5 above and 5 below blogs in the link and just make a comments on them. Well the minimum is 10 but I usually like looking so I am probably going to look at a few more than 10 hee hee.

Here is the project I got to do today!!

So my niece is going to be 13 next month and I just am not sure if the usual kid cards are going to fit this year. LOL Being a teenager and all.  Heehee.
I got the Heritage Cartridge last week from a friend. (well borrowing it) I was looking at it and thought I am not going to find anything on a Heritage cart for a teenager. But after looking at it I found this cart has a lot of swirly accents and corners and such so here is the card I came up with!! This cart is very versatile! I love it! I hope she loves the card!
Hope you enjoyed looking at my blog!
Feel free to look around!
You need to go here to get all the rules and the code to link up!! She also has a giveaway for those that participate. Make sure you check it out to see what it is!!
